LSE experts at major climate conference’, LSE Briefing, 10 August 2006.

Professor Leonard Smith, director of LSE’s Centre for the Analysis of Time Series (CATS) and two CATS visiting research fellows, Professor Nigel Harvey and Dr David Stainforth, contributed to the World Meteorological Organisation Conference ‘Living with Climate Variability and Change’, held in Espoo, Finland. The conference noted the value in moving toward addressing demand driven aspects of climate change research, including more input from policy makers in industry, NGOs, aid agencies and other non climate scientists’ research, and communicating both current insights and the limits of our current scientific insights in a way that informs decision makers to the greatest extent possible.
